Sea Shepherd’s new vessel ‘The Ocean Warrior’ to be launched in September 2016 (Watch Video)

Sea Shepherd Global’s new ship ‘The Ocean Warrior’ will be launched in September to join the organisation’s Global fleet.

It will be Sea Shepherd Global’s first fast long range, tough, custom built high seas patrol vessel.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Dutch and Swedish Postal Code Lotteries the ship is being built by the Dutch company Damen in Turkey.

Over the next few months, what is now just a shell of steel works will be transformed into a custom-designed, state of the art-vessel. The new ship will be capable of achieving speeds that far exceed any of the vessels in Sea Shepherd’s current fleet, and will be able to operate in extreme weather conditions.
