Help Royal Marine Diver Jamie get back underwater

28 year old Military Diver, BSAC Instructor and Royal Marine Jamie Doxey is a well known face at the UK Dive Shows and can usually be found volunteering on the Scuba Strapp stand.

Jamie almost died in a serious diving accident 18 months ago. Tests have since revealed that he has a PFO, essentially a hole in his heart. Jamie needs to undergo surgery to repair the hole in his heart or he will be unable to dive again. Unfortunately neither the military or the NHS is prepared to fund the operation because, above water, Jamie can lead a normal life, but we all know how devastating it would be to be told our diving life was over…

A surgical team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London have agreed to perform Jamie’s operation at a considerably reduced cost of £10,000. The operation is scheduled to take place TODAY, Wednesday 11th April 2018, but he is still a long way short of funding it.

Jamie has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the money to pay for the operation. In return for donations, he is offering to teach both scuba diving lessons (upon successful completion of his operation) and surf boarding lessons.
