BSAC’s Branch Volunteer of the Year 2014 winners revealed
The results of the Suunto Branch Volunteer of the Year 2014 have been announced, with six BSAC branch members scooping a top award.
The Branch Volunteer initiative has been designed to reward BSAC branch members for their significant contribution to their club, to diving and to BSAC. With the standard of nominations high, the judging panel had a challenging task to select the final six – who each now receive a Suunto DX computer.
BSAC’s six Branch Volunteers of the Year 2014 are:
- New Branch Volunteer of the Year – Anne Morrison, South Bay Scuba
- Young Branch Volunteer of the Year – Megan Judd, Bradford SAC
- Branch Instructor of the Year – Ross Peel, Sheffield University SAC
- Branch Event Organiser of the Year – Mark Tucker, Street SAC
- Long-serving Branch Volunteer of the Year – Christopher Powell, Wellington & Taunton SAC
- Branch Volunteer of the Year (general) – Mark O’Reagan Murphy, Dublin University SAC
The winners will all be presented with their prize at the London International Dive Show at Excel on 14th February.
The overall Branch Volunteer of the Year 2014 will also be announced at the show, and the winner will be presented with the coveted Jonathan Crusher Award.
BSAC Chief Executive, Mary Tetley, said: “Congratulations to all our 2014 winners – each one is a worthy winner and are a shining example of the power of volunteering.
The Suunto Branch Volunteer of the Year award is our way of acknowledging the significant contribution of all our volunteers and to highlight just how essential they are to BSAC.”
