1478056798The opening and closing dates for the 2017 Underwater Photographer of the Year competition have been announced. Registration opened yesterday (Tuesday 1st November 2016), and closes on Monday 2nd January 2017 (midnight GMT).

Two new categories have been added for the 2017 competition; aimed at underwater photographers from around the world, these new categories are Portrait and Compact. Other categories include Wide Angle, Macro, Wrecks, Behaviour, Up & Coming, British Waters Wide Angle, British Waters Macro, and British Waters Compact.
