Scuba diver rescued in Lake Michigan
A scuba diver has been rescued after his regulator malfunctioned 100 feet below the surface of Lake Michigan.
The Coast Guard said a crew was able to get the man breathing again when he was pulled onto a boat on Saturday but he still was unconscious at the time.
The diver was taken to an ambulance waiting on shore in Saugatuck in Allegan County and then transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, which has a hyperbaric chamber.
So far the diver’s name and condition have not been released.
