The water surrounding The Bahamas are home to over 60 species of sharks and rays. It has become a very popular destination for divers who want to experience sharks. The Shark Trust spoke to people working in the shark diving and eco-tourism industry, as well as government officials, those involved in shark and marine habitat conservation, film-makers involved in the recent TV series located in The Bahamas and locals from the three islands they visited.

Living with Sharks in The Bahamas offers a glimpse into a hopeful future for sharks. As their populations begin to recover, the challenge is no longer just about protection, but about coexistence.

The mini-documentary from The Shark Trust explores what happens when conservation works. It asks: how do we balance growing coastal communities with the return of these predators? What does it look like to share space with sharks?

Living with Sharks in The Bahamas highlights just the beginning of a long-term programme from the Shark Trust to improve relationships with the ocean’s top predators and build a better future for both people and sharks.

It is now time for the public to decide who will take the top prize. You vote could help the Shark Trust reach a new audience. Bringing the amazing world of sharks and rays to people of all ages, backgrounds and making it accessible for all.
