Get Ready For WhaleFest 2014
Whalefest, the world’s largest festival about whales, dolphins and marine life, will take place at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton, UK on the 14th – 16th March 2014.
Opened by Gok Wan and closed by Miranda Krestovnikoff (BBC One Show), WhaleFest 2014 is a family friendly event that will appeal to everyone with an enthusiasm for whales and dolphins and the marine environment – a celebration of passion, science, music and art.
Passions will be stirred by live performances, films, prose, talks, comedy, exhibitions, music and inspiring activities for all ages. It attracts people from all over the world and an audience of 10,000+ from over 40 countries is anticipated.
WhaleFest is a not-for-profit event, which raises funds for the World Cetacean Alliance (WCA). The WCA is the only global partnership of organisations working for whales and dolphins. With Jean-Michel Cousteau as Honorary President the WCA has a focused strategy to end captive Killer Whale entertainment at marine parks, and to save threatened species – such as the world’s last 50 Maui’s dolphins in New Zealand.
This third WhaleFest is part of a 5-year plan to create the world’s biggest marine festival – one that will be firmly embedded in Brighton culture and has the support of VisitBrighton.
