First Ever Attempt to Map Underwater Trash

As much as 6 million tons of rubbish may be entering the ocean each year. But Project AWARE divers and volunteers have been making a difference by battling marine debris issues around the world. Next month, Project AWARE will launch an interactive map of the Dive Against Debris work that has been accomplished so far. It’s the first ever attempt to visualize the types and amounts of debris scuba divers are removing and reporting from the ocean. Scubaverse will keep you updated with the launch of the map and the progression of the Dive Against Debris campaign, so stay tuned.
