Barbados Dive Fest 2026 Gets Underway With Week of Diving and Conservation

Barbados Dive Fest 2026 gets underway today, bringing a week of scuba diving, freediving, marine education and conservation activities to the Caribbean island.

Running from 16–22 August, the annual festival features a programme designed to showcase Barbados’ underwater environment while encouraging greater awareness of marine conservation.

The opening day today includes a beach clean-up and Coral Reef Day, followed by the official opening ceremony in the evening. Divers can also take part in organised dives exploring Barbados’ coral reefs.

The programme continues throughout the week with an Adventure Day, trivia night and an underwater photography competition. Wednesday features Discover Scuba activities and a night dive, while Thursday focuses on marine activities and Friday brings further conservation work, including a Dive Against Debris event and a lionfish hunt.

The festival concludes on Saturday with a day dedicated to wreck diving, giving participants the opportunity to explore some of Barbados’ historic underwater sites before the closing ceremony.
