Scuba diver dies in Cornwall

A scuba diver died after getting into difficulties in the sea off Cornwall on Monday.

At 2:30pm police were notified by Falmouth Coastguard of a scuba diver in difficulty off Trevose Head, near Padstow.

The man, 63, was airlifted from a boat and taken to The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where he was pronounced dead.

A police spokesman said: “An enquiry is ongoing trying to establish the exact nature of the incident. The diver is from out of the area and was diving with a group of friends at the location.”
