Wreck site warning for divers following near miss at Portland Harbour

The Portland Harbour Authority has issued a warning of diving within close proximity to commercial shipping following a near incident in Portland Harbour.

During an attempted dive on the Countess of Erne wreck site back in May, three divers found themselves adrift on their safety stop, heading into the busy East Ship Channel… and the potential path of a tanker.

The divers were recovered from the water without incident and the Portland Harbour Authority is now taking steps to mark the bow of the Countess of Erne with a designated buoy.

You can read the full details and the steps now being taken here.
