UK Introduces First Underwater Rescue Charity
SARbot, Britain’s first underwater search and rescue charity, will play a crucial role in the recovery and rescue of persons lost at sea through the use of robots with tethers, high-definition cameras and lights, and arms that are capable of grabbing bodies and taking them to the surface.
While arranging search and rescue divers can take precious time that endangers a person’s survival, or the likelihood of recovering their bodies if survival is not a possibility, SARbot’s rescue robots can be launched within 4 minutes and dive much faster than even a highly trained search and rescue diver could.
