Tobago’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s safest destinations is well earned. The island has recorded one of the region’s lowest serious crime rates, with a consistent year-over-year decline in violent incidents. Tobago is also supported by the Tourism-Oriented Policing Section (TOPS), a specialized division of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. These officers are trained to serve the needs of visitors and provide visible, accessible safety support across high-traffic tourism areas.

To further support our guests, the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Tourism (DoTCAT) of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) will be introducing the Safe Tobago Web App, a new digital tool that provides real-time safety information and visitor support. Through the app, travelers can:

• Report incidents or concerns directly to local authorities

• Access emergency contacts and support resources

• Share their location with trusted contacts during travel

• Navigate their stay with greater awareness and peace of mind
