Spend Christmas and New Year Diving in St. Eustatius with Kids Sea Camp
Families looking to spend the Christmas and New Year period somewhere a little different can head to St. Eustatius in the Caribbean this December, where Kids Sea Camp will host a week-long family diving trip at Golden Rock Nature Resort.
Running from 26 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, the trip is designed to combine diving for adults and older children with dedicated programmes for younger members of the family, while everyone stays together at Golden Rock Nature Resort.
The seven-night trip includes six days of diving and a programme of activities for both divers and non-divers. Current pricing starts at US$3,575 per diver, with the package including accommodation, meals, diving, children’s programmes, equipment and island transfers. Flights are not included.
Diving in St. Eustatius
Certified divers on the trip can expect a mixture of boat diving during the week, with the programme including two-tank morning dives, three afternoon dives and a night dive. The night dive is available to divers aged 12 and over.
The diving is operated with private boats and divemasters for the Kids Sea Camp group, while certified Nitrox divers can use Nitrox at no additional charge.
St. Eustatius offers a variety of dive sites around the island, and the Kids Sea Camp programme can also incorporate different types of diving and activities, including boat and drift dives, photo dives and lionfish hunting, depending on conditions and the final schedule.
Diving for the Kids
A major part of the trip is the dedicated programme for younger divers, with activities tailored to different ages and levels of experience.
Children aged 4–7 can take part in the SASY programme, while those aged 8–9 can join the Seal Team programme. Junior Open Water is available for children aged 10–17, giving older children the opportunity to work towards their certification as part of the trip.
The children’s packages include their rental diving equipment, with the Junior Open Water programme including confined-water and open-water dives. Children completing Junior Open Water continue to dive with an instructor from the boat once the course has been completed.
For children taking part in SASY and Seal Team, the programme includes six days of activities, while Junior Open Water students receive the equipment and training required for their course.
There are also activities away from the diving, including a treasure hunt for younger children, a pizza and movie night for those not old enough for the night dive, karaoke and guided snorkelling for non-divers.
A Christmas Holiday for the Whole Family
The programme is not just about diving. Kids Sea Camp has built activities into the week for adults and families, with the current package including an island tour, a culinary class and a sip-and-paint activity for adults.
The trip also includes an opening orientation and ceremony, followed by a closing celebration featuring a slideshow and graduation presentations.
For families travelling together, the format means parents can spend time diving while children take part in supervised age-appropriate programmes of their own.
Staying at Golden Rock Nature Resort
Golden Rock Nature Resort sits on the slopes of the Quill volcano overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with accommodation ranging from rooms to cottages and villa suites.
During the Kids Sea Camp week, families have access to the resort’s two outdoor swimming pools, oceanfront gym, spa, sports facilities, mini golf, children’s playground, pickleball and padel courts, as well as its ocean-fed cliff-edge lagoon.
The lagoon itself provides another opportunity to get in the water, with a submerged school bus forming part of the underwater environment and the lagoon reaching depths of up to around 10 metres.
Meals are included throughout the trip, with the Kids Sea Camp package providing breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.
Christmas and New Year Underwater
With the trip taking place from Boxing Day through to the first week of January, the St. Eustatius Kids Sea Camp offers families the opportunity to spend the festive period diving, learning new skills and exploring the island together.
The current package includes seven nights’ accommodation, six days of diving and children’s programmes, meals, rental equipment for participating children, tanks and weights, Nitrox for certified divers, activities, Wi-Fi and airport and harbour transfers on St. Eustatius.
The Kids Sea Camp Christmas and New Year trip at Golden Rock Nature Resort runs from 26 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, with current published prices starting at US$3,575 per diver.
