Shot Of Bahamas Tiger Shark Wins Scuba Tours Worldwide’s Underwater Photographic Competition

Damian Brown has travelled all over the world with UK based tour operator Scuba Tours Worldwide and last year they arranged his dive holiday to the Bahamas.

“The trip was absolutely fantastic … on one dive we had around 30 Caribbean, 15 Lemon, 1 Nurse and 11 Tiger sharks in view at once!  I will be surprised if anywhere could live up to that for shark encounters – both in terms of numbers and the close proximity,” said Damien.

Damian entered some of the images from his trip into the Scuba Tours Worldwide Underwater Photographic Competition and his amazing shot of a Tiger Shark has been awarded Overall First Prize.  Damian wins a fabulous holiday on board Sea Queen or Sea Spirit in the Maldives.

As well as amazing shark encounters, the Bahamas is also well known for its spectacular walls and blue holes (of which Dean’s Blue Hole is the world’s deepest at 663 feet), ship and plane wrecks, unspoilt reefs and the chance to swim with wild dolphins. There are also sea turtles, conch, a plethora of reef fish, spiny lobster – with the ‘march of the lobster’ taking place in November – and during late January/early February some islands experience huge shoals of spawning groupers … which happen to be the national fish of the Bahamas.

See more of Damian’s images on the Scuba Tours Worldwide website Gallery and for more information on the Bahamas see the new Bahamas web page on the site. If you would like to speak to one of Scuba Tours Worldwide’s sales team call +44 (0)1284 748010.
