Scuba Diving in Mexico: Diving Cenote Car Wash (Watch Video)
In this exclusive video for Scubaverse and Dive Travel Adventures, join Richard and Hayley from Black Manta Photography as they explore Cenote Car Wash.
This Cenote is one of the most popular on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico due to the stunning pink water Lillies that adorn the edge of the water. Here you’ll find an array of freshwater fish and even a few terrapins swimming around – can you spot the one that made a surprise appearance in the video? This dive was a very shallow one – probably no deeper than about 8m, so one that all levels of diver can enjoy. And as for the name – any ideas where the name ‘Car Wash’ came from?? That’s right – you guessed it – this is where the local taxi drivers used to take their cars to wash them before it became a tourist spot for swimming and diving – probably the most picturesque car wash in the world!
Cenote Car Wash was the last of four Cenotes that Black Manta Photography had the chance to dive, before spending the rest of the time diving with the Bull Sharks at Playacar. Check back here for the rest of the videos!
