Prodivers to open new dive centre in the Maldives

Maldives based dive centre chain Prodivers have announced that they will be opening a new dive centre on Lily Beach Resort & Spa in the Maldives’ South Ari Atoll.

With dive centres already established at resorts on the islands of Kuredu, Komandoo and Vakarufalhi, their 4th centre at Lily Beach will open on the 1st July 2014.

The South Ari Atoll is one of the most famous dive regions in the Maldives and well known worldwide for its Whale Shark encounters.

Here are 5 of the top dive sites in the area:

1. Huda Thila, Reethi Thila/Five Rocks: Grey reef sharks, barracudas, napoleons, amazing topography
2. Kuda Rah Thila: fish soup, trumpet fish, National Geographic top 5
3. MV Kudhimaa wreck: top critter dive site, batfish, barracudas, stonefish, nudis
4. Madivaru/Hukuru Elhi Faru & Madifaru: both dive sites have Manta rays in season
5. Noo Giri/Kuda Maafushivaru Giri: awesome soft corals, turtles, fish soup
