NUPG announce 2018 Splash-In

On Saturday 4^th August the Northern Underwater Photography Group will be holding their annual Splash-In competition in North Wales. The NUPG welcome all underwater photographers to join in this fun event that brings together divers who love taking photos from all over the region.

Those taking part must take their underwater photos on the day anywhere in the region, as long as it is in the sea. They must then head to the Belle Vue Hotel in Bangor to hand in their best images and join in the judging.

The winner of each category will receive a trophy to keep and the overall winner will receive the coveted NUPG Splash-In Winners Trophy. Each category has been sponsored by underwater photography and diving businesses and the NUPG would like to thank them for their continued support. The categories and sponsors are:

Close Up: Scubaverse
Wide Angle: Nauticam UK
Newcomer: Dive Safari Asia
Overall Winner: Frogfish Photography

Divers will be diving all around the North Wales area, including Anglesey, the Menai Strait and the Llyn Peninsular. To take part you need to register in advance of the day, and there will be a small entry fee when you submit your images on the day. You can then join in the fun and take on whatever challenges the weather might throw at you.

Nick and Caroline Robertson-Brown

Nick and Caroline (Frogfish Photography) are a married couple of conservation driven underwater photo-journalists and authors. Both have honours degrees from Manchester University, in Environmental Biology and Biology respectively, with Nick being a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, a former high school science teacher with a DipEd in Teaching Studies. Caroline has an MSc in Animal Behaviour specializing in Caribbean Ecology. They are multiple award-winning photographers and along with 4 published books, feature regularly in the diving, wildlife and international press They are the Underwater Photography and Deputy Editors at Scubaverse and Dive Travel Adventures. Winners of the Caribbean Tourism Organization Photo-journalist of the Year for a feature on Shark Diving in The Bahamas, and they have been placed in every year they have entered. Nick and Caroline regularly use their free time to visit schools, both in the UK and on their travels, to discuss the important issues of marine conservation, sharks and plastic pollution. They are ambassadors for Sharks4Kids and founders of SeaStraw. They are Dive Ambassadors for The Islands of The Bahamas and are supported by Mares, Paralenz, Nauticam and Olympus.
