Nigel Wade 1958 – 2017

Hey guys and gals, Dave the Scubaverse editor here. Myself and the rest of the Scubaverse team would like to acknowledge the passing of Nigel Wade, Diver Magazine’s Technical Editor and one of the UK diving industry’s greatest characters. Nigel died following a heart attack on Saturday at the age of 59.

If you were ever lucky enough to meet Nigel or see one of his talks at a dive show, you would know that his love and enthusiasm for diving, underwater photography, and life in general knew no bounds. I didn’t know him incredibly well, but he always made time for me; he would always go out of his way to have a chat and ask me how I was getting along, especially in the early days of Scubaverse – and I’ll never forget that. He was a top bloke, a true gent and was loved by many.

My heart goes to his widow Karen, the rest of his family, his legion of friends and his friends and colleagues at Diver Magazine. Rest in Peace mate – you will be missed. x
