July saw the Minke Whale season, and what a season it was, some saying the best ever!

Some lucky passengers had over twenty encounters with over 100 individual whales spread over their 5 day expedition. One individual whale was seen at three different dive sites over a period of several days and seemed to get more friendly with each encounter.

Once the whale season was over, the weather permitted many expeditions to spend several days out at the Coral Sea around Osprey Reef with brilliant visibility and manta rays dancing through the water column. Hammerhead sharks and a crazy free-swimming moray, pygmy seahorses and sea snakes were just a few of the highlights.
