Introducing Safety Stop+: Smarter Stops for Safer Diving

With the launch of the Sirius L, Mares also introduces Safety Stop+, a new safety-enhancing feature that will become standard across all Mares dive computers. Thanks to the transparency and flexibility of the Bühlmann algorithm, Safety Stop+ offers divers the option to extend their shallow stop until a Gradient Factor (GF) of 70 is reached – a value supported by recent studies from DAN (Divers Alert Network) as significantly reducing the risk of decompression sickness (DCS).

This extended stop is not mandatory, but it’s a smart and simple way to increase post-dive safety. Safety Stop+ encourages divers to enjoy a few more minutes at shallower depths relaxing, off-gassing, and preparing for the next adventure.
