Here’s the latest HEPCA news, which has been lifted from their official newsletter:
HEPCA supports Sharm El-Sheikh residents’ mobilization against the South of Sinai Governorate’s ill-studied restoration of Um El-Sid cliff
HEPCA condemns the South of Sinai Governorate’s ill-studied plans for the restoration of Um El-Sid Cliff. The Governarate’s plans pose a real threat to the safety of the residents of the cliff, and the surrounding coral reef and its ecosystem. And we support Sharm El-Sheikh concerned residents’ mobilization to insure that the restoration of Um El-Sid Cliff in Sharm El-Sheikh will respect the safety of the residents and the surrounding environment. Throughout the last few weeks, the community of Sharm El-Sheikh has been mobilizing to stop the ill-studied restoration of Um El-Sid Cliff, and to insure that when the restoration is resumed, it’s after a thorough scientific study that would insure that the restoration of the cliff does not put the residents in danger, nor does it effect the reef along the coast of the cliff. |
