Introducing the 2025 PADI Junior AmbassaDivers

AmbassaDivers

PADI has announced its first-ever round of PADI Junior AmbassaDivers™.

Aged between 10 and 17, these Torchbearers are the youth of the diving community. They live in different parts of the world and are accustomed to different climates, dive conditions and marine life, but they are all ocean lovers. Their passion for adventure and conservation is clear through their words and actions, just like PADI’s 2025 AmbassaDivers.

Meet the 2025 PADI Junior AmbassaDivers. Find out who is who, what they do and what their plans are as ocean advocates.

Aarav

Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia

Aarav is like most of us – he has always felt a connection to the ocean. His first dive in Tulamben, Indonesia, proved life-changing and turned him into an ocean lover. Since then, he has qualified as a PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and is currently working towards earning his PADI Junior Divemaster certification.

Out of the water, he is an active member of his school’s baseball and basketball teams.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To be a voice for our ocean!”

Alaia

Pollensa, Mallorca, Spain

She’s only 13 years old, but Alaia has already lived in South Africa, Mexico and Spain, learning the local languages along the way. During her travels, she has also strengthened her diving skills as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver by working on conservation projects, including the Posidonia Seagrass Conservation Project in Mallorca and coral nursery cleaning in the Caribbean. Alaia is keen to continue exploring the underwater world and to dive with different marine life.

Beyond diving, Alaia is a competitive swimmer and silk acrobat.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To inspire young ocean lovers to dive responsibly, explore boldly, ask questions and protect our blue planet.”

Ashrita

Hyderabad, India

Ashrita enjoys many different subjects, including marine ecosystems, astronomy and engineering. As an Advanced Open Water Diver with an AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty certification, Ashrita knows all too well how diving can spark ideas, change lives and inspire innovation. So much so that she is using her diving know-how and academic knowledge to develop a drone prototype that detects illegal deep-sea mining and monitors marine ecosystems.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To show young explorers that you don’t have to pick just one path; you can build bridges between every field. You’ve only got one life, so explore widely…”

Lennox

Strobl, Austria

13-year-old Lennox is living life on the road with his parents in their converted truck, Akela. They’ve been traveling for the past seven years, during which he obtained his PADI Junior Open Water Diver and freediving certifications. He has dived in every ocean, and he loves seeing the unique marine life in both cold and warm waters.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “Inspire other kids and young voices to care about our blue planet.”

Ivan

Melbourne, Australia

Ivan has been diving since he was eight years old, when he earned his PADI Master Seal Team certification in Thailand. As soon as he turned 10, he obtained his PADI Junior Open Water Diver license, giving him the knowledge and skills to handle the colder and more challenging waters of Melbourne.

Ivan is also neurodivergent, and diving helps him stay focused, build his self-confidence and overcome obstacles with calmness. When he’s not diving, he’s busy working on developing a Roblox scuba diving game to promote marine conservation.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To inspire young people — especially neurodiverse kids — to explore the ocean and take action to protect it.”

Kate

Melbourne, Australia

When it comes to knowing and caring for your local dive site, nobody does it better than Kate from Melbourne, Australia. Naarm (aka Port Philip Bay) is her home underwater, and whether she’s snorkeling or diving in these waters, she is either busy looking at marine life or keeping the area free of debris and invasive species.

When not diving, you’ll find her working in the local café as a part-time high school student.

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To explore, protect and share the beauty of the ocean and celebrating marine life through diving, connecting people to the sea and inspiring its preservation for future generations.”

Dorian and Kian

Munich, Germany

Diving is more fun when you have a sibling with you. Big brother Dorian and little brother Kian actively dive together. They have explored wrecks, swum with whale sharks and participated in beach cleanups and coral planting. Together, they believe that by sharing their adventures, more people will want to protect the underwater world.

Goal as Junior PADI AmbassaDivers: For Kian, it’s “to make people care about the ocean.” Dorian echoes this sentiment by stating that he wants “to inspire other kids to try scuba diving and to protect the ocean.”

Goal as a Junior PADI AmbassaDiver: “To leave positivity behind so others can run into it and have fun along the way.”

Julia and Alexa

Melbourne, Australia

Do identical twins share the same interests, thoughts and ideas? Julia and Alexa certainly do. Between golf games, they are ocean advocates who want to raise awareness about climate change and how it damages our marine habitats. They are both Junior Open Water Divers and PADI Equipment Specialists, so they can do basic checks and repairs on their gear while out on their dives.

Goal as Junior PADI AmbassaDivers: For Alexa, her mission is “to educate people about the risks of plastic and its impact on marine life and help to promote diving across all ages.” Julia want “to educate and raise awareness about global warming by getting others involved in diving and in the environment.”
