HEPCA Welcomes SINAI REEF As Sister Organisation
HEPCA has welcomed SINAI REEF as a sister organisation.
Here is the official press release:
WELCOME SINAI REEF!
For years, Sinai has been waiting for a foundation that takes the mission of protecting and conserving its environment. And now such foundation is here!
HEPCA is happy to welcome SINAI REEF as a sister organization. The ongoing fight for the safety of the residents of Um El-Sid Cliff in Sharm El Sheikh and the protection of the coastal coral reef by the cliff, spearheaded by Sinai Reef, is a perfect example of how such a foundation will be a great addition to the conservation efforts in Egypt. With a mandate to conserve the environment in South Sinai, through community participation and development, Sinai Reef is promising a better future for the environment of South Sinai.
Under the leadership of one of the pioneers of diving sports in the Red Sea, Mr. Hesham Gabr, former chairperson of Egypt’s Chamber of Diving and Water sports (CDWS), Sinai Reef takes the mission of conserving the marine life in South of Sinai with the support of the local diving community and the wider tourism sector in Sharm El-Sheikh, as well as policy change through advocacy.
