Crowdfunding Project Hopes To Raise Money For New Scuba Diving Series
A campaign to raise funds for final preproduction, location shooting and postproduction for the first three episodes of a new scuba diving series with the current working title of Around the World Under the Sea has been launched on crowdfunding website www.indiegogo.com.
John Lewis, a Scuba Instructor and Dive Travel Adventure Leader who is based in Irving, Texas in the USA is the creative force behind the project.
“Learning to scuba dive in 1982, I’ve noted over the years that many people in the world still do not have a grasp of the Ocean’s place in our everyday lives. They do not know the joys of watching reef life up close and in a natural environment, nor even why this should matter to them,” said John, who hopes that the series will raise awareness of the great diversity of life in the Earth’s oceans and on its shores. “The intention is to spur more ecological and cultural awareness and possibly even encourage the viewer to take up scuba themselves, so that they may personally get involved in the excitement that is the underwater world.”
A variety of perks are on offer to those who wish to contribute financially to the project, ranging from T-Shirts to actually joining John in the Caribbean during the filming of the show.
