BSAC launch Marine Life Appreciation course
BSAC’s new Marine Life Appreciation (MLA) Skill Development Course is now available to BSAC members looking to gain an understanding of the marine environment and the marine life they encounter.
This one-day classroom-based course – designed so that it can also be delivered over a series of evenings – aims to educate divers about the underwater world, through a series of related lessons and exercises. It also offers optional in water sessions and can be delivered in-branch or can be completed via a BSAC Regional Event or BSAC Centre.
Marine Life Appreciation covers the main groupings of marine creatures and the diversity of life within them, the basic science that governs life underwater, current human impact on the oceans, and describes how you can further your knowledge and contribute to marine science and conservation. The course will teach you how to use marine life identification resources effectively and, if you do the optional underwater lesson, some tricks for observing marine life you might otherwise miss.
The Marine Life Appreciation Course packs are now available for order online via the BSAC Shop.
