Breaking News: FCO travel advisory lifted for Egypt’s Sharm el Sheikh
As of today, 22 October 2019, the Foreign Office (FCO) is no longer advising against all but essential travel by air to and from Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
In what is great news for dive operators in the region and Egyptian tourism generally, this means that air travellers will once again be able to fly direct from UK airports to Sharm el Sheikh.
Direct flights were suspended after an air crash in October 2015 and the UK government has been working with the Egyptian authorities to enable flights to resume ever since.
The FCO advises that all travellers check with their airline or tour operator for the latest information on services.
