Blue Marine Foundation Offers Five Places in 2027 London Marathon
Ocean conservation charity Blue Marine Foundation is offering supporters the chance to take part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon and raise funds to help protect and restore the world’s oceans.
The organisation has five charity places available for next year’s race, which will take place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April 2027.
The 2027 London Marathon will be a historic one, expanding into a two-day event for the first time. Around 100,000 runners are expected to take part across the two days, making it the biggest edition of the race to date.
Blue Marine is now accepting applications for its five places, with applications remaining open for two weeks. Applicants must be aged 18 or over and be prepared to commit to a fundraising target in support of the charity’s ocean conservation work.
For those selected, the challenge offers the opportunity to take on one of the world’s most famous marathon courses while raising money for marine conservation.
Blue Marine Foundation works internationally to protect and restore ocean ecosystems, tackle overfishing, support sustainable fisheries and establish effective marine protected areas. Its mission is to see at least 30 per cent of the world’s ocean effectively protected by 2030, with the remainder sustainably managed.
The charity currently works across more than 75 projects, with its conservation efforts spanning regions including the British Isles, Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific.
For anyone looking for a particularly ambitious way to support ocean conservation, running 26.2 miles through London while raising funds for Blue Marine could be quite a challenge — but also a pretty memorable way to do it.
