Beach Clean Up with Miss Scuba UK (Watch Video)
Plastic and general non bio-degradable human waste is now a significant part of the marine environment. It has become embedded in the food chain and kills an untold number of animals, birds and fish.
Picking up litter from our beaches and coastline is the very least all of us can do to help prevent further pollution of our seas and stop the unnecessary suffering and starvation of our marine wildlife. Last week I joined Miss Scuba UK along with Dream Divers and The National Trust to help on a litter pick on the beach at Seahouses, Northumberland. Just off shore are the Farne islands, home to Grey Seals and millions of sea birds where we dived the following day to try and see the seals underwater.
