BSAC gets Hacked Off at ScubaFest Anglesey
This weekend BSAC will be taking the call to end the sale of shark fin soup to the Anglesey ScubaFest, with Bite-Back’s Hacked Off campaign joining the team.
Throughout 2014, BSAC will be working closely with the marine conservation charity in its bid to make the UK the first country to be ‘shark fin soup free’. And attendees of this year’s Anglesey ScubaFest (16 & 17 August) will be able to get involved.
BSAC is hoping as many divers as possible will put their name to the Hacked Off! campaign, and get the 65+ known restaurants around the country to take shark fin soup off the menu.
Visitors to the BSAC tent at Porth Dafarch beach can find out more about the Hacked Off! campaign and get involved by:
- Checking out the Hacked Off! restaurant map to find their nearest ‘offending’ restaurant and sign a petition letter
- Take their own ‘Hacked Off! selfie’ with the campaign’s logo and post it as their Facebook profile picture
- Get a club group photo taken with the Bite-Back/Hacked Off logo
Bite-Back’s Graham Buckingham said the opportunity for Hacked Off! to join BSAC at ScubaFest was too good to miss. “Working with BSAC and its divers at ScubaFest represents a real shot in the arm for the Hacked Off! campaign and its bid to make Britain’s restaurants shark fin soup free.”
