Dive Worldwide Introduces A Bali ‘Seafari’ That Ticks Every Box
Until now, divers have always found it impossible to choose between the rich and varied dive sites of Bali – one of the Indonesian island’s greatest features. Thanks to Dive Worldwide’s new Bali Seafari, the problem is solved. The innovative new trip combines Bali’s best dive sites, each one accessed by a luxurious catamaran, plus multi-centre hotel stays. What’s more, there’s also time to take in some secluded white sand beaches, make important cultural visits and relax with a spa experience or two for which Bali is so famous. The Bali Seafari is ideal for those who like the idea of liveaboard diving but are secretly land lubbers – the best of both worlds.
Spend the nights on land in well located properties in Sanur, Amed and Nusa Lembongan, and the days in the water exploring wrecks, discovering critters and gazing in awe at manta rays. In between, hop on board the modern catamaran which accommodates up to 16 divers comfortably. Along the way, visit a Balinese temple and capture the magnificent scenery including rice fields, forests, and coffee and spice plantations.
The great value eight night package, suitable for most diving abilities, takes in exceptional diving from protected, shallow bays populated by exotic scorpion fish, octopus and nudibranchs (soft-bodied, marine gastropod molluscs), to exciting drift diving in wild currents with sharks and manta rays. This unique Seafari offers up to 12 dives around Bali’s famous sites: reef diving at Amed; Tulamben including USS Liberty and Seraya Secrets; Padang Bai including Gili Tepekong and Mimpang; local sites at CrystalBay, Blue Corner and Manta Point; and Nusa Penida’s colourful reefs.
Underwater highlights include diving in Tulamben Bay, where reef fish swarm the coral encrusted WWII wreck of the USS Liberty – perfect for wide angled photography. South east of Tulamben is Seraya Secrets, a dive site that from the surface gives little sign of the richness that lies below, a site where extraordinary sea creatures are abundant. Just off the coast, Nusa Lembongan is the island to visit for an incredible encounter with rare mola mola. Divers are wise to have their cameras at the ready with pygmy seahorse, frog fish, harlequin shrimp and plenty more. At the end of the break dive at Gili Tepekong and Mimpang, famous for their variety of hard and soft corals as well as white tip shark encounters.
