Underwater Photography News from DIVE 2016, Part 3: Easydive

Easydive are another newcomer to the Dive Show in the UK. Whilst the company was founded by Fabio Benvenuti in 2000, this is their first trip to promote their underwater housings in the UK.

Easydive offer incredible housings, as they are universal, and fit many cameras into a single housing. All the controls are operated with magnetic controls that work electronically using the camera’s menu. This means that the buttons on the housing do not have to line up with those on the camera, and so when you upgrade your camera, there is no need for an expensive upgrade changing housings! All you have to do is purchase an inexpensive upgrade to the software. This is a game-changer for the underwater photographer who wants to have the latest camera.

Easydive offer housings for DSLR cameras, Mirrorless cameras and also for smart phones, and this same principle applies each time when you upgrade. All you need to do is simply request a software upgrade, which comes on a flash drive, and you are sorted. On top of this, the housings are depth rated to a whopping 150m and come with a lifetime warranty. Easydive housings come with a great pedigree too, they have been successfully used by the Italian emergency services for over 10 years.

Easy dive also make video lights to go with their camera housings. You can chose between a 4000 lumen or a 13,000 lumen model. Both are impossible to flood and they are so confident with this, they offer a no-quibble replacement system.

We asked Fabio what his initial thoughts were on the Dive Show, having visited him early on the first day, and he was cautiously positive saying “We will see, but it seems good so far.”

We will be testing an Easydive housing with our two different DSLR Nikons in the near future, so keep an eye on the Scubaverse website for more.
