Diving and Underwater Photography in Ireland by Ivan Donoghue at the April NUPG Meeting (Watch Video)

The April 2021 NUPG meeting saw Ivan Donoghue take to the virtual stage. Ivan gave the group a tour of some of the best dive sites that Ireland has to offer and showed off his fantastic underwater photography of the region. It really whet the appetite for all those watching the virtual talk for a trip in the future. There were loads of questions about the practicalities of organising a diving tour.

As always, the NUPG members also had a chance to show off some of their images in the monthly competition. This month’s theme was “Marine Mammals” and it saw a range of species entered, with lots of seals, from the group.

The winning shot was of a Farne Islands seal by John Spencer

The runner up was a pod of dolphins from The Bahamas by Nick Robertson-Brown

Third spot was secured with this selfie image of a seal and diver at the surface in the Farne Islands by Mike Clark.
