Egypt receives the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Safe Travel Stamp
The WTTC has approved Egypt’s regulation for the resumption of tourism to Egypt and offered the country the Safe Travel Stamp.
In a Video Conference call Gloria Guevara, WTTC president and CEO told Dr. Khaled El-Enany Minister of Tourism and Antiquities that she is delighted to see major countries and destinations such as Egypt and Slovenia joining the growing list of global destinations adopting their private sector protocols. She said:
“This not only shows the success of the WTTC Safe Travel stamp, but also demonstrates its importance to travellers and those who work in the sector. We thank these destination countries and cities for working with WTTC and this time is the time for cooperation.”
On his part Dr. El-Enany said that he is quite pleased with the decision issued today by the WTTC to grant Egypt its “Safe Travel Stamp”. This is a milestone in our bilateral cooperation with the WTTC. This decision reflects Egypt’s commitment to the SAFE resumption of inbound tourism with strict comprehensive hygiene safety measures starting July 1, 2020 to its superb, sunny, and healthy beaches.
“Looking forward to welcoming you soon in Egypt’s resorts in the Red Sea and South Sinai Governorates and the Mediterranean Coast in Matrouh Governorate!” he said.
The WTTC designed the stamp to enable travellers to identify destinations and businesses that adopted its health and hygiene global standardized protocols and travel safely.
