Go on a Greenland Diving and Adventure Voyage with Aqua-Firma
The polar dive experts at Aqua-Firma are offering a Dive and Adventure Liveaboard to East Greenland as the easiest and cheapest way to see stunning icebergs from above and below the water. These magnificent sculpted icebergs, rivalled only by those found in Antarctica, are grounded in Scoresby Sund, one of the longest fjords in the World and offer mirror-like waters and turquoise berg beaches. The dive team will also be searching for unique Arctic marine life within Greenland’s fjords, expecting creatures such as winged snails and sea angels amongst the kelp forests. Reached by very economical flights to Iceland, the liveaboard diving expedition departs Reykjavik and will explore the biggest National park in the world.
As well as pioneering diving there are plenty of free activities for either diver or non diver: kayaking , daily guided hikes, or professionally run photography workshops. This Greenland Adventure is unique and timed for September 2014 when as night falls, we hope that you will see the dancing Northern Lights. Visits to Inuit communities are planned and the voyage will naturally absorb stunning vistas of glaciers, icebergs, and the immense Greenland icesheet which sits on top of 2,000 metre high coastal mountains. The team hopes to encounter whales, seals, musk oxen and with luck a glimpse of the elusive polar bear. En route or after the voyage, Aqua-Firma can easily add the experience of diving at Silfra in Iceland – a tectonic split in the Earth which is home to some of the clearest diving on the planet and your only opportunity to ever put one hand on the Americas and the other on Europe!
For those who can’t wait until September next year for some polar diving, you can join Aqua-Firma Marine Scientist, Charlotte Caffrey, diving in Antarctica Across the Southern Polar Circle in March next year.
