Since 2011, the Oman Explorer has served as your gateway to Oman’s most spectacular underwater realms, under the expert direction of Extra Divers Worldwide.
This spacious steel vessel comfortably accommodates up to 22 divers across 11 cabins, all with cool air-conditioning. Twin cabins on both upper and lower decks feature practical amenities; including a fan, wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with shower/WC, towels, and hairdryer, while upper-deck cabins delight with ocean views. The large master cabin on the main deck features a king-size bed, TV, and minibar.
The Oman Explorer features a large dive deck, an air-conditioned salon, and a sun deck with shaded lounging areas. There is also a cozy seating area on the upper deck, perfect for relaxing between dives.
Aboard the Oman Explorer, guests can enjoy 2 to 4 dives per day, including night dives. Standard tanks are 12-litre aluminum cylinders (DIN/INT), while 15-litre tanks are available on request and at an additional charge. Nitrox is also available for certified divers for an extra fee. The spacious dive platform is well-equipped with rinse tanks and freshwater showers, and the dive deck provides ample storage space for equipment, including personal gear boxes. Dives are conducted either directly from the platform or from the two zodiacs.
Itinerary options include weekly 7-night safaris (Saturday–Saturday) and twice-yearly, extended 10-night ‘Best of Oman’ journeys exploring the full coastal stretch from north to south, or vice versa.
Safety is paramount, with fully equipped emergency gear including first-aid kits, oxygen, defibrillator, fire extinguishers, life vests, radar, GPS, satellite phone, and more.
Diving in Oman offers a unique blend of reef formations and abundant marine life. The country’s long coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman is home to thriving coral gardens and sheltered bays. Divers can encounter various macro life, turtles, barracudas, leopard sharks, stingrays, and even whale sharks in season. The Daymaniyat Islands and Hallaniyat Islands, each offering spectacular biodiversity and stunning underwater landscapes. With warm waters and relatively few crowds, Oman remains one of the best-kept secrets for divers.
