Capt. Stephen D. Nagiewicz

Capt. Steve is a former dive charter boat operator and acknowledged authority on shipwrecks and scuba diving. His first book: Hidden History of Maritime New Jersey was published April 2016 and the story of how the tragedies of local shipwrecks off the New Jersey coast played an important role in passenger safety and maritime commerce. He has also written about or has been profiled about his knowledge of shipwrecks in many regional and national media publications. Nagiewicz is Fellow and former Executive Director of the Explorers Club, Royal Geographic Society and former Facility Manager for the State of New Jersey’s Marine Science Laboratory at Sandy Hook. Steve has also been the Domestic Sales Manager for Diving Unlimited International and Chairman of the Board for Shark Research Institute. He is the former owner of NJScuba.net, a Licensed USCG Master and professional diver with over 4000 dives. He currently teaches Environmental and Marine Science in high school and college.
