Inaugural NAUI Business Institute Set to Launch at DEMA Show 2016
Amidst this year’s major advancements and changes occurring within the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI Worldwide) is the recent development of its NAUI Business Institute (NBI), a premier educational standard for dive business leaders. The program’s opening launch gets underway on Nov. 19 and 20 during DEMA Show 2016 in Las Vegas.
Through a comprehensive and interactive approach, NBI has been designed to provide graduates with enhanced business and managerial skills. The program will consist of an intensive two-day core course workshop, followed by a series of 10 monthly webinar sessions to ensure continuous involvement and integration with dive industry leaders.
“As a dive business leader, it only stands to reason that your level of education and training should include an advanced degree as well,” said NAUI Executive Director Dallas Edmiston.
The inaugural course was intentionally planned to commence during the 2016 Show because DEMA offers the opportunity to show the industry NAUI’s unique and member-centered approach to dive training and business development. Participating NAUI members will have the opportunity to access a wealth of knowledge, concepts, ideas and practices focused on growing client base, increasing revenue, and gaining awareness for a dive store or active lifestyle business.
The NBI course curriculum is designed to educate and unite individuals through its 26 credit hours, of which 16 credit hours constitute the core curriculum, covering areas of dive business that include leadership, management, dive business law, accounting and inventory control, operations, insurance, travel, marketing, strategic planning, social media integration, and much more.
“It is NAUI leaders who have initiated and pioneered many of the training and education innovations in the industry; and we plan to continue this leadership role going forward,” said Edmiston.
