Elke Bojanowski to host ‘Project Shark’ in the Maldives

Published

UK-based diving tour operator blue o two have announced that current Red Sea ‘Project Shark’ host and founder of the Red Sea Sharks Trust, Dr. Elke Bojanowski, will now also be taking her expertise to host ‘Project Shark’ trips in the Maldives.

Elke Project Shark MaldivesThe current ‘Project Shark’ itineraries offered on board blue o two’s liveaboard fleet in the Red Sea were established in 2007 when Elke joined the blue o two team. Elke began her Longimanus Project in October 2004 and since this date she has been actively collecting underwater photographs and video-clips of Red Sea sharks for cataloging, review and analysis. Elke was able to continue her research by offering divers the opportunity to learn about sharks in the Red Sea, collect and analyse data, and learn about globally endangered marine species. Research will be continued by Elke with the extension of ‘Project Shark’ in the Maldives contributing to existing Maldivian trust research projects.

These ‘Project Shark: Maldives’ liveaboard safaris will involve close encounters with sharks, manta rays and whale sharks (although these sightings cannot be guaranteed!) with the possibility to observe them in their natural habitat and donate vital information to local Maldivian marine research organisations.

Join Elke on board the newly refurbished M/Y blue Voyager for ‘Project Shark: Maldives’ on any of the dates below:
