Egypt opens for International Tourism

Dr Khaled El-Enani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, has declared that Egypt is open for international tourism from July 1st.
In the joint press conference held with the Minister of Aviation, he mentioned that the main summer destinations in Egypt: Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Matrouh will be the first to open on this date followed gradually by the other destinations.
He indicated that the slow spread of the pandemic and the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Health and the concerned governorates, led to such decision. Adding that the pandemic protocol elaborated by the government from the very beginning of its spread, and according to the directives of the WHO, are thoroughly applied under a tight control from the Ministry and the specialised authorities. He also pointed out that besides the official control, the Ministry has contracted three international auditing companies for the surveillance and control of the implementation in the hotels and other tourism amenities.
The three destinations open for international tourists used to receive more than 80% of European travellers flying to Egypt during the normal summer months.
In light of the government’s preparations for the return of tourism to Egypt, a number of incentives and discounts have been offered to encourage major tour operators to organise trips to Egypt’s touristic governorates.
Among the most important of these incentives are the cancellation of tourist visas to visitors to Egypt’s touristic governorates until 31 October 2020, and the extension on the current flight incentive program until 29 October 2020.

Freediver Christian Redl Sets His 13th World Record at Lake Neufeld
![](https://www.scubaverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/1.jpg)
Freediving champion Christian Redl achieved his 13th world record at Lake Neufeld together with his teammates by completing 55 dives of 20 meters with just one single breath each, a feat that in total is comparable to the depth of the Mariana Trench! Within 4 hours and 26 minutes out of a planned total of 5 hours, the project was made possible thanks to the support of Cressi, which supplied high-quality equipment to Redl and his fellow athletes.
Cressi, the official sponsor of the project, has been working with Redl since the beginning of his career, establishing a relationship that goes beyond simple collaboration and has become a true friendship over the years. Cressi’s support has been fundamental to the success of this venture and this highlights the reliability and innovation of its products.
The aim of the dives was not only to break a new record but also to raise awareness of the pollution of our planet’s waters, a subject dear to both Redl and Cressi.
It remains to be seen whether Redl will continue its record hunt, but one thing is certain: with Cressi’s support, each new challenge will be met with the utmost quality and determination.
